Rebuilding Homes, Restoring Hope
In 2017, Florida was hit by Hurricane Irma. Its 150 mph winds left a trail of destruction and impacted countless lives, causing an estimated $50 billion in damages.
While for most of us, this natural disaster is a distant memory, there is one family for whom it remains an ongoing struggle. That family is Cynthia and Al, who on September 10, 2017, were forced to evacuate their flooded home with the help of the National Guard. Since then, they have been unable to return and have faced years of challenges and obstacles.
At HD Roofing & Solar, we have taken on the commitment to restore their home and bring back hope.
Through the poignant black and white photographs captured by Cynthia, a talented photographer, we are allowed a glimpse into the grim state they are in and the challenges they still must overcome.
We gave thanks through
actions on Thanksgiving.
Thanksgiving is a time to express gratitude for the people in our lives. At HD Roofing & Solar, we are deeply thankful for our community in Central Florida, and we wanted to contribute to this festive time of year.
In 2021, motivated by the desire to give back to the community, we went to the Orlando Union Rescue Mission to assist in the distribution of holiday meals and provide monetary support to further their noble work in their mission to aid those in need.
Additionally, a few days later, we held a Thanksgiving turkey drive at our Lakeland facility, and with the collaboration of Beulah Baptist Church, which donated canned goods and other holiday items, we managed to distribute more than 200 turkeys to the community
