HD Roofing and Construction through 100 Black Man of Greater Orlando is helping kids to build skills in many areas.

Once again HD Roofing and Construction supports the Greater Orlando young community in need.

HD Roofing appreciates the important role that businesses play in building a healthy community. The company was created by a hard-working couple with 15 years of involvement in the roofing business. They have helped many people in Orlando to create the home of their dreams or getting that home back in great shape from a difficult situation: strong winds, hurricanes, hail storms, you name it, homeowners in the state of Florida had been counting on HD Roofing and Construction to fix their roof and much more. This time HD Roofing continues to give back, by donating to a great cause: 100 Black Men of Greater Orlando, where young people without the financial support had been receiving student scholarships so that young people can achieve their own goals in life through education.

No one attains success without the support of others. After many years of serving, the family that forms HD Roofing and Construction have become familiar with the needs of their community and understand what it takes to grow. Orlando needs the strength that comes from having talented young men and women who can serve in areas such as law, business, healthcare, engineering, etc.  HD Roofing’s founders, alongside their astounding group of technicians, give quality work and excellent customer support along the construction process, but what most customers don’t know is about the give back contribution HD Roofing do with lots of people and organizations that help others.

About 100 Black Men. It was first established as an association in busy New York City as far back as 1963. It is now a nonprofit and continues to help people achieve their dreams, and as a national association focused on building communities, 100 Black Men of America, Inc. took on the challenges facing America with nine sections in 1986. While this is fairly recent, over the decades that it has been in existence the organization has facilitated many help programs to the USA. Bringing alone partnerships such as the one between HD Roofing and its Orlando chapter. The nonprofit is not limited to business-minded young people and seeks to encourage academic success in all areas of endeavor. What started as a national effort to drive African American men to contribute and excel in areas such as business, industry, and the government has become a mission to enhance the personal satisfaction experienced by all Americans and especially African American youth.

The visionaries who wanted to use education and other proven means to facilitate growth included business people and industry pioneers: David Dinkins, Dr. William Hayling, and Nathaniel Goldston III were just a few. The pioneering work also grew as a result of the efforts of Andrew Hatcher, Livingston Wingate, and Jackie Robinson. There is no limit to what people can achieve with hard work, determination and the right support.

The effort that businesses put into supporting education today has a profound impact on the future, and this is why HD Roofing has stepped forward to play their part. Since its initiation, 100 Black Men vision rose and has developed to assist more than 10,000 young men. It affects more than 120,000 minority youth every year. The actions of just a few visionaries continue to impact thousands today. The 100 Black Men of Greater Orlando feted scholarship awardees and their sponsors at an elegant event recently.

HD Roofing and Construction through 100 Black Man of Greater Orlando is helping kids to build skills in many areas.

HD Roofing and Construction was recognized for their contribution at this 17th Scholarship Award Dinner, which was held on June 8, 2019, and they remain committed to giving back to their community. HD Roofing understands the tremendous strain experienced by young people who want to study in areas such as law and medicine, which have traditionally been very expensive.  By taking a portion of the money related weight off of young people and their families, HD Roofing can empower more prominent achievement in university, helping to merit young men who need to graduate after earning their degree and offer their skills to society. The cycle of empowerment continues, as these young men show that it is possible to achieve your goals in life by pursuing academic success and committing to helping others. They are motivated to keep going no matter what type of challenges they have experienced in the past.  Regardless of whether the support comes from their work environment, their own manager or a nearby network, that individually grants backing, a scholarship recipient usually accomplishes more than paying a few bills. Of course, the bills are extensive, and students must cover the cost of expensive books and much more. Receiving help from others around you who recognize your talents and believe in you additionally ingrains a more prominent feeling of having a place. Students feel hope and inspiration that drives them through the challenge of adjusting to an ever more competitive environment, tough academic material and even they struggle to volunteer in various ways while they study. They endure the obstacles associated with their advanced education because of support from businesses like HD Roofing and Construction, that believe in their ability to excel. The business has high hopes for each scholarship recipient and expects that these young men will make s tremendous impact on Orlando’s success in the years to come.  HD Roofing engages and supports young black men in Orlando so that their hopes and aspirations in communications, engineering and government will grow. They know that these young men have the ability to inspire others in architecture, management, and many other areas that can help the country to succeed. Awardees investigate and build up their capacities for the long haul to the advantage of the greater society.

By supporting a grant through 100 Black Men of Orlando, HD Roofing helps our talented young men to improve the world that all of our children will live in tomorrow.

No matter how big or small a roofing or construction business might be right now, the fact is that still, it’s an integral part of the community, and a one with the power to share time, talent, and resources with neighbors.
Here’s a 3 go-do action list to help your company give back and why we at HD Roofing and construction think is a priority.

“One of our biggest assets is the skill and passion of our employees, let’s do more positive work for this community than just construction…”
David M.
COO at HD Roofing and Construction.

If you poke around in your community, you’ll likely find plenty of opportunities for your construction business to support those in need.
Provide roofing or other contracting services for families in need, such as those with members who are disabled veterans, elderly, or in financial hardship. If you’re not sure who to help, identify those in need by contacting local churches or community aid organizations. You might also consider asking employees and clients to nominate a family in need. We had donated our services to local non-profits in need of material.

Business-based volunteer projects aren’t just good for the community; they’re good for you and your team too. Research suggests a good workplace volunteer program boosts team building, company loyalty, and workplace morale. What’s more, your community involvement can help attract new hires, particularly Millennials—in one study 61% of Millennials said a volunteer program would be a deciding factor if they had to choose employment between two otherwise equal companies.

Create a doable action plan to jumpstart your volunteer project or program. If your own to-do list is loaded, recruit a crew member willing to head up the project. Community involvement and volunteer planning is a smart addition to your bad weather downtime strategy.

Community involvement helps build your image as a trustworthy local business, so include plans to show potential and current clients you care.

Finally, if you’re a construction company in the state of Florida we want to partner with you in giving back, please contact us and tell us about your awesome community project and we might add resources and help too.
