Poverty and hunger rates are soaring as Venezuela’s economic crisis leaves store shelves empty of food, medicine, etc. Venezuela descended into a deep recession in 2014, because of years of economic mismanagement. The crisis has worsened in the past year. A study by the non-profit Caritas in poorer areas of four states found the percentage of children under 5 lacking adequate nutrition had jumped to 81 percent in December from 64 percent seven months earlier.
Some parents can no longer bear it, they are doing the unthinkable, giving up their children.
They are giving them up not because they don’t love them but because they do.
Now, the food is a secondary problem when it comes to the health condition of these children, the food they hardly get is not really helping as it should just because of pinworms and digestive parasites infestation in the children population, most of them have this health issues just because they are always barefoot: “there is no money for food, much less for buying shoes“, that is why, we at HD Roofing and Construction, saw an opportunity to help and donated over 300 pairs of shoes and pinworm killer treatment among other things, like toothbrushes and toys to this group of children in the city of Valencia, Venezuela.
We, at HD Roofing and Construction, believe in helping the most needed, we think of ourselves as much more than just a roofing and construction company, and we will invite fellows construction and roofing companies in the area to get together for a good deed cause like helping these kids survive.
“Remember this. Hold on to this. This is the only perfection there is, the perfection of helping others. This is the only thing we can do that has any lasting meaning. This is why we’re here. To make each other feel safer, loved and cared.”
